Van Halen returns to the road
The group returned to the stage last Thursday (4/17) for a performance in Reno, NV, and followed that up with a headlining performance at Saturday's (4/19) Tiger Jam benefit concert in Las Vegas. Next up on the group's schedule--which is included below--is a show tomorrow (4/22) in Cincinnati. Capping the current itinerary is a June 2 engagement in Grand Rapids, MI.
Most of the currently scheduled shows are makeup dates for March and April concerts that the band postponed so that Eddie Van Halen could undergo "medical tests to define a course of treatment" for an undisclosed ailment, according to a press release issued at the time. The group has not made public any information about what prompted the medical attention in the first place.
Eddie Van Halen has, in recent years, been treated for cancer, alcoholism and substance abuse.
Van Halen hit the road last fall with frontman David Lee Roth at the helm for the first time in more than two decades. The outing ended up being one of 2007's Top 5 highest-grossing tours, prompting the group to book a new leg of shows that kicked off in late January.
