Blondie marks 30 years of 'Lines' on summer road trip
Deborah Harry and Blondie will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's breakthrough hit album "Parallel Lines" with a June headlining run.
The outing kicks off June 5 in Baltimore, with 15 cities mapped on the tour's itinerary. Dates are below.
"We are looking forward to seeing new and old fans out there this summer," guitarist Chris Stein said in a press release. "We have been doing pretty much the same show for several tours now, and this time we have more rehearsal time than usual and are gonna try and take it a bit further."
The band's most recent studio album, 2003's "The Curse of Blondie ," featured the single "Good Boys," which reached No. 12 on the UK charts.
Harry and Stein formed Blondie in 1974, with drummer Clem Burke and keyboard player Jimmy Destri joining the following year. Destri retired from touring in 2004, leaving Harry, Stein and Burke as the only remaining members of the original lineup appearing at the group's live shows.
"Parallel Lines," released in 1978, launched the band into international stardom, featuring the single "Heart of Glass," which topped the charts in both the US and UK. The album has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide since its release, according to the band's publicist.
