Animated death metal outfit Dethklok [ tickets ] will mount a headlining tour early this summer as it continues to support its debut album and a dedicated cartoon-show fan base.

The group--which was created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blancha, and is the subject of its own series, "Metalocalypse," on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim program--will kick off the trek June 2 in Portland, OR.

Joining the animated rockers on the 27-city trip will be metal acts Chimaira and Soilent Green. Tickets for the outing go on sale to the public starting April 18; fans tuning into "Metalocalypse" on April 13 during the 12 a.m. ET showing will be given a password and information on where to purchase special pre-sale tickets for the shows.

"I predict that this show will be, without a doubt, the best animated Death Metal tour in recorded history," said Small in a press release.

Dethklok [ tickets ]'s debut album, "The Dethalbum," was released in September. The disc debuted at No. 21 on The Billboard 200 album chart, and has sold more than 195,000 copies since its release, according to Adult Swim.

Cleveland's Chimaira released it's fourth studio album, "Resurrection," last spring. New Orleans natives Soilent Green's next full-length, "Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction," will hit stores April 15.
