Panic at the Disco set to launch Honda Civic Tour
Aside from recently added shows in Charlotte, NC (4/27), Grand Rapids, MI (5/21) and Reno, NV (6/10), the new additions tack second nights onto existing tour stops, including San Francisco, New York and Chicago. See the entire schedule included below for more details.
In addition to Panic at the Disco, the tour also features Motion City Soundtrack , The Hush Sound and Phantom Planet .
"The Civic Tour is a super-big deal for us and we’ve been looking forward to it for a while," Panic guitarist Ryan Ross said in a press statement. "Plus, the band's totally excited to play the new songs for the fans. We know the energy at these shows is gonna be amazing. We can't wait to get onstage."
In conjunction with the tour, Panic at the Disco customized a Honda Civic Hybrid, which will be on display at each tour stop, and which one fan will win after the tour ends. Fans can enter an online drawing to win the car via the Honda Civic Tour's website, according to organizers.
The Honda Civic tour began in 2001 with Blink-182 at the helm. Last year's event featured headliners Fall Out Boy, and focused on the Honda Civic Hybrid in promoting green technologies and environmental consciousness.
This year's event maintains the spirit of that theme, with one dollar from every ticket going into a fund designated by non-profit organizations and tour partners Reverb and Global Inheritance.
Panic at the Disco's new release, "Pretty. Odd.," which follows the band's 2005 debut, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out," debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 chart. The group recorded the new set at Las Vegas' Studio at the Palms with producer Rob Mathes.
The album's first single, "Nine in the Afternoon," hit radio in late January and climbed to the No. 8 spot on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart.
