Disturbed launches 'Indestructible' tour dates
The band, which recently returned from entertaining the troops in Kuwait, will warm up for the summer season with a three-week run around the eastern half of the US beginning April 26 in Little Rock, AR. In June, Disturbed will hit the European festival circuit and then return to North America in time for the inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, which is due to launch July 9 near Seattle. That hard rock extravaganza is scheduled to visit 30 cities in the US and Canada, and will feature Disturbed on the main stage with Slipknot, Dragonforce and Mastodon.
Disturbed's first leg of US dates are included below, overseas shows can be found at the band's website, and the Mayhem festival tour itinerary is scheduled to be announced April 1. Meanwhile, in a blog posting on their MySpace page, the band members told fans to expect plenty more dates in the next 12 to 18 months.
The multi-platinum-selling rockers are looking forward to the release of their new album, "Indestructible," which is scheduled to drop June 3. The self-produced set is Disturbed's fourth studio album, following 2005's "Ten Thousand Fists."
Lead singer David Draiman said that, while the new material has its melodic aspects, it is darker, faster, heavier and more complex than Disturbed's past couple of records.
"I said to the guys, 'Give me the darkest, nastiest, heaviest stuff you can come up with,'" Draiman recalled during a recent interview with LiveDaily. "That's what started everything."
The album's lead single, "Inside the Fire," is set to hit radio airwaves today (3/24), and another track, "Perfect Insanity," is streaming at Disturbed's MySpace page.
Since forming in 1996, the Chicago-based quartet has sold 10 million albums worldwide, according to a press release. Disturbed's 2000 debut, "The Sickness," scored triple-platinum status, 2002's "Believe" topped The Billboard 200 chart, and "Ten Thousand Fists" became the group's second consecutive No. 1.
