Hatebreed, Type O Negative head Jagermeister Tour

The Jagermeister Music Tour launches its sixth annual spring edition in May with Hatebreed and Type O Negative providing a one-two heavy metal punch.

The 32-city trek will kick off May 16 in Providence, RI, rocking crowds through late June, with details on an additional pair of dates in Boston and Philadelphia to be filled in during the coming weeks. The tour's current schedule is included below.

"Having the opportunity to headline the Jagermeister Music Tour, like our friends from Slayer and Slipknot, is a tremendous honor," said Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta in a statement. "Jagermeister has supported heavy music in so many different ways and they continue to bring together the best of the best in metal."

"We thought long and hard before putting this tour together and feel these two bands are a perfect fit for the Spring Jagermeister Music Tour," added Jagermeister's strategic marketing director, Rick Zeiler, "We've been doing this long enough to know who will work well on our Tour and feel the synergy is perfect. Get ready, metal fans--this will definitely be one of the hardest tours we've ever done!"

Connecticut-bred Hatebreed's fourth and most recent album, 2006's "Supremacy," peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jasta confirmed last year on an episode of MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" that the band is currently working on a new studio set.

Brooklyn's Type O Negative has been touring behind "Dead Again" since last spring. The album--the band's seventh and first for SPV Records--surfaced early last year, debuting at No. 27 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the magazine's Top Independent Album's chart. An enhanced version of the album surfaced last month, featuring a bonus DVD with live performances, interviews and music videos.
