Crosby, Stills & Nash hit the road

Folk-rock supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash are together again and planning a major North American tour.

The outing, which spans 40 dates across the US and Canada, is set to launch May 31 in Santa Rosa, CA, and wrap Aug. 9 in Memphis. Details are listed below.

The trek marks the first proper CSN tour since 2005. The last time the Woodstock-era trio was on the road in any configuration was for the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 2006 Freedom of Speech Tour.

CSN first formed in 1968, with each member coming from another influential group: David Crosby from The Byrds, Stephen Stills from Buffalo Springfield and Graham Nash from The Hollies. Their 1969 self-titled debut earned them a Best New Artist Grammy and now sits at No. 259 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

In 2005, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers put out a "Greatest Hits" compilation showcasing their intricate vocal harmonies and messages of social injustice. That set features 19 tracks spanning from 1969 to 1994, including "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Teach Your Children" and "Wasted on the Way."

Crosby, Stills & Nash 's most recent collection of original material is 1994's "After the Storm." The trio joined with Neil Young once again in 1999 for "Looking Forward."
