The Bravery map dates behind bigger 'Sun'
New Wave revivalists The Bravery have lined up a mid-spring headlining tour as they get ready to release an expanded version of last year's "The Sun and the Moon" LP.
The New York City-based group kicks off the outing March 13 in San Francisco. The bulk of the 27-city trek consists of headlining shows, although the band will work a few festival appearances into the schedule, including slots at both the West and East Coast versions of the Bamboozle music fest (April 6 in Irvine, CA, and May 3 in East Rutherford, NJ). All dates are below.
Released last May, The Bravery's sophomore effort follows the band's self-titled 2005 debut, and features production by Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan). The band worked with O'Brien in his Atlanta studio, as well as "various apartments scattered around New York City," according to a posting on the group's website.
The album debuted at No. 24 on The Billboard 200 album chart, moving about 22,000 copies during its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
"The Sun and the Moon Complete," due in stores March 18, expands the album to two discs, one labeled "The Sun," including the original album as produced by O'Brien, and the other titled "The Moon," featuring all the songs in the same order, but re-worked by the band in the studio.
"This is 'The Moon' side of 'The Sun and The Moon,' all the same songs but a completely different album," said frontman Sam Endicott in a press statement. "'The Sun' is us experimenting in the studio; 'The Moon' is us back on our home turf."
