Chris Botti continues worldwide trek through 'Italia'
Trumpeter Chris Botti continues to tour non-stop around the world, backing his latest studio set, "Italia," with concert dates already stacked well into next year.
The spring months will find Botti traveling to several Asian countries, Poland, the UK and Spain in addition to his ongoing schedule in the US and Canada, which continues tomorrow night (2/29) in Vancouver. Botti's international itinerary can be found at his website, while his North American dates are included below.
The Portland, OR-raised Botti said in the online bio posted at his site that he considers himself basically "homeless" due to his endless touring.
"I don't live anywhere," he said. "I have no storage locker. Every single possession I own fits in one suitcase, one carry-on and there's my trumpet. But I feel unbelievably lucky that I have an opportunity to be on the road 365 days a year."
"Italia," hit stores in December, garnering the trumpeter a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Album. The album takes on Botti's Italian roots as its theme.
"It really is a beautiful kind of love letter to Italy expressing the longing of someone who's not there," said Botti. "Italy has a romantic quality about it even for someone who's never been there ... the food, the fashion, the art, the landscape, the way the people live their life."
