Deftones, Busta Rhymes Debut High, Eminem Holds Top Chart Spot

"White Pony," the third album from Sacramento-based rock act the Deftones , will enter the Billboard 200 album chart at No 3 next week to earn honors as the week's top debut, according to music industry sources. Remaining atop the chart for a sixth consecutive week is Eminem 's "The Marshall Mathers LP," which sold another 400,000 copies.

The Deftones kicked off a promotional blitz with an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman on June 20, the day "White Pony" hit stores. The following night, the band opened a tour in Philadelphia. Eminem continues to tour with the "Up In Smoke" hip-hop package.

A strong debut week was also logged by the Busta Rhymes release "Anarchy," which sold more than 167,000 copies and will chart at No. 4.

Britney Spears ' sophomore release, "Oops!... I Did It Again," will hold steady at No. 2. The teen-aged star opened a North American tour last week. 'N Sync, also in the midst of a major North American tour, remains at No. 5 with "No Strings Attached."

Completing the top 10 will be Creed, the Eric Clapton/B.B. King collaboration "Riding With the King," Kid Rock, Papa Roach, and matchbox twenty.
