Beastie Boys, Rage Against The Machine To Co-Bill Tour

Beastie Boys and Rage Against the Machine, via postings to their official websites, have confirmed long-rumored plans to co-headline a major North American tour. The bill will also include a third act, which will vary from city to city.

The Rhyme & Reason 2000 tour will visit stadiums, amphitheaters and arenas in about 30 markets. The outing is set to open on Aug. 2 in Toronto, and is expected to wrap in Los Angeles on Sept. 16.

Each band had confirmed 11 of the tour’s stops by Tuesday afternoon (6/27), but no ticket on-sale dates had been announced. Tickets will be offered online through the official Beastie Boys and Rage Against the Machine websites before they go on sale elsewhere, according to postings to the sites.

Beastie Boys haven’t released an album of new material since 1998’s "Hello Nasty." A two-CD anthology titled "The Sounds of Science" was issued by the Beasties in late 1999. Rage Against the Machine is currently on a world tour in support of their 1999 release "The Battle of Los Angeles."

[Note: The following tour dates have been provided by artist and/or tour sources, who verify its accuracy as of the publication time of this story. Changes may occur before tickets go on sale. Check with official artist websites, ticketing sources and venues for late updates.]
