Eagles sign on for expanded Stagecoach fest
The Eagles , who recently unveiled plans for a multi-night run in the Atlanta area this May, will warm up for that engagement with a performance at this year's Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio, CA.
Originally scheduled for May 3 and May 4, the festival has now been extended to a three-day event with the addition of a May 2 engagement. The Eagles will cap off the newly added date with a headlining set that will follow performances by John Fogerty, Trisha Yearwood, Shelby Lynne, Glen Campbell and Rissi Palmer.
Set to take place at the Empire Polo Grounds, the festival will also feature performances from Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, The Judds, Carrie Underwood and Big & Rich, among others. All told, more than 50 acts spanning a number of musical genres--mainstream country, bluegrass, folk, roots rock and alt-country--will perform on four stages over the three-day weekend, according to organizers. Additional details, including ticket information, are available at the festival's website.
The Eagles' Stagecoach appearance precedes its previously announced engagement at Alpharetta, GA's new Verizon Wireless Ammphitheatre, which has grown to encompass a total of four shows: May 14, 16, 17 and 20. Tickets are on sale now.
Fans can expect to hear the Eagles perform classics culled from throughout their 30-year career, as well as material from their latest album, "Long Road Out of Eden." Released last November, the set marks the group's first new studio collection in 28 years.
"How Long," the first single from "Long Road Out of Eden," earned the group a trophy at last Sunday's Grammy Awards ceremony; the cut was honored in the Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group category.
