Tim McGraw nails down 'Live Your Voice' trek
The full itinerary has been rolled out for Tim McGraw 's 2008 "Live Your Voice Tour," which will stop in amphitheaters all over the US this spring and summer.
The outing's official launch is set for May 9 in Tampa, FL, though McGraw has a handful of performances in the next few months, including appearances at RodeoHouston, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and Indio, CA's Stagecoach country music festival. His current itinerary comprises nearly 45 dates from coast to coast through early July. Details are listed below.
Special guests Jason Aldean and Halfway to Hazard will open the tour, and McGraw will handpick new artists to showcase on the "StyleSonic Stage" before each show, according to a press release. Concertgoers will also have the opportunity to obtain free downloads of "StyleSonic" music. Details about that will be made available at McGraw's website.
Last fall, the country star and his wife, Faith Hill, wrapped their two-year "Soul2Soul" tour, which turned out to be the most successful multi-year trek in country music history, according to a press release. McGraw also earned plenty of his own honors, winning his 11th Country Music Association Award and his first BMI award as a songwriter, and becoming the only country artist to make Forbes Magazine's 2007 Top 10 earner list.
This year, McGraw is in the running for four Grammy Awards for material off his latest platinum-selling album, "Let It Go." The set, which surfaced last May, is the singer's ninth consecutive record to debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. So far, it has spawned crossover hits including "Last Dollar (Fly Away)," "I Need You" (with Hill), "Suspicions" and "If You're Reading This."
Since 1993, McGraw has logged nine multi-platinum-selling albums, 30 No. 1 hits, three Grammys and a slew of CMA and Academy of Country Music awards. He's also made a second career on the big screen, appearing in the films "Friday Night Lights," "Flicka," "The Kingdom" and the upcoming "Four Christmases," which stars Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn.
