Anti-Flag explores 'America' on spring trek

Punk rockers Anti-Flag have lined up a spring headlining run behind their eighth and latest studio album, "The Bright Lights of America," which is due in stores the first of April.

The tour kicks off March 28 in Cincinnati, with visits to 30 cities lined up through early May, with a pair of non-headlining festival appearances thrown in the mix: the April 6 Bamboozle Left in Irvine, CA, and a May 3 slot at New Jersey's multi-day Bamboozle Right festival.

Street Dogs, The Briggs and Fake Problems will provide opening support on all dates except the festival appearances; the full schedule is included below.

"Bright Lights," which follows 2006's "For Blood and Empire," was produced by veteran rock overseer Tony Visconti (David Bowie, Morrissey), who had never worked with the band before.

"It's a very personal record in general," Anti-Flag frontman Justin Sane told thepunksite.com in December. "We wanted to expand in new ways and include new people in what we were doing. We felt like Tony Visconti was somebody who had experience with trying to do those things and would be able to help us supervise. What we tried to do too though was play as many instruments as we possibly could. So rather than bringing in players from the symphony to bang on the timpani, we wanted to play them ourselves.

"Again, because we’ve never done that before, we thought it would be helpful to have somebody who has," he added.

The album's title track is currently streaming on the band's MySpace page.
