Rowdy Frynds won't settle down
Country music icon Hank Williams Jr. and Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd will head out this spring for another round of the Rowdy Frynds Tour.
The US outing will visit arenas and music festivals across the East, starting April 4 in Hershey, PA, and stretching through mid-June. Details are listed below.
Last year's inaugural Rowdy Frynds Tour spanned 20 dates and grossed more than $10.5 million, making it one of the Top 10 tours of 2007, according to a press release.
"Last year was incredible," Williams said in a statement. "How could we not get together for another round?"
Skynyrd's Johnny Van Zant added that his band's following fits together perfectly with Williams'.
"We can't wait to get back out there and have some fun!" he said.
Williams, who has 13 No. 1 albums and four Emmy awards under his belt, continues to support his 2006 best-of set, "That's How They Do It in Dixie: The Essential Collection." His latest album of original material is 2003's "I'm One of You."
Lynyrd Skynyrd released its latest set of new material, "Vicious Cycle," in 2003. That year, the band also offered up the double album/DVD collection "Lynyrd Skynyrd Lyve" as well as "Thyrty," a best-of compilation marking the group's 30th anniversary. A couple more greatest hits albums surfaced last year. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have pumped out nearly 65 albums and sold 30 million units during their career, and continue to play 80 dates annually, according to a press release.
