Eagles set US launch date
The Eagles will break in Alpharetta, GA's brand new amphitheater this spring when they kick off the US leg of their "Long Road Out of Eden World Tour."
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are scheduled to play the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park May 14. So far, that launch date is the only US gig to be announced. Tickets go on sale Feb. 1 and VIP packages are available through the I Love All Access website.
The Eagles will dive into their international trek with a four-show run March 20, 22, 23 and 26 at London's O2 arena, where they will debut their new stage production.
In concert, the band members--Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit--will play their classics as well as material from their new album, "Long Road Out of Eden." The record debuted at the top of The Billboard 200 in November, selling more than 711,000 copies its first week out, according to a press release. The 2-disc set, which was certified seven-times platinum earlier this month, comprises the Eagles' first collection of new material in 28 years.
The album's lead single, "How Long," remains in the Top 10 at adult-contemporary radio after 22 weeks and is up for a Grammy Award in the Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals category.
The video for the follow-up single, "Busy Being Fabulous," premiered earlier this week and can be accessed through links at the Eagles' website.
The Eagles have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, earning five No. 1 singles and four Grammy Awards, according to a press release. The veteran rockers' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975" is the best-selling album of all time in the US.
