Coachella bill tops 120 acts
Other acts near the top of the list include The Raconteurs featuring Jack White, The Breeders , Fatboy Slim , Kraftwerk , Death Cab for Cutie , Cafe Tacuba, Sasha & Digweed, Rilo Kiley, Dwight Yoakam and My Morning Jacket . The full lineup--which tops 120 artists--is listed below.
In addition to Portishead, which reportedly hasn't played on American soil in nearly a decade, Coachella will count The Verve, as well as Love and Rockets, among this year's reunions. The festival, which has inspired several bands to reunite in the past, last year was the launching pad for a Rage Against the Machine reunion.
The ninth edition of Coachella will mark the festival's second as a three-day affair. Tickets go on sale Friday (1/25) through Ticketmaster outlets (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily's parent company) with a three-day general admission costing $269 and a single-day admission running $90. Camping is also available for $55 per person.
When promoters announced the Coachella lineup yesterday (1/21), they also confirmed preliminary details for a new festival in New Jersey. The three-day All Points West Music & Arts Festival is set for Aug. 8-10 at Liberty State Park. The location will provide quite a backdrop for the event, including panoramic views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the Manhattan skyline. Though no performers have been announced, rumor has it that Radiohead will be one of the headliners. Further information will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release.
The Jersey festival further expands the stable of multi-day events produced by Goldenvoice/AEG Live. Last year, the promoters introduced the Stagecoach country music extravaganza, which once again will take over Empire Polo Field a week after Coachella. That May 3-4 event boasts a superstar-heavy lineup, including Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood.
