Guest stars join Kid Rock on tour
Kid Rock is ready and raring to go on his "Rock and Roll Revival Tour," which hits the road next week with some special guest stars.
The Detroit rap-rocker has tapped Run D.M.C.'s Reverend Run, former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dicky Betts and J. Giles Band frontman Peter Wolf to join him on select dates--not as opening acts, but as partners on stage along with Rock's expanded 11-piece Twisted Brown Trucker Band, according to a press release.
"We want to give people the greatest night of their life--the best party, the best music, the best show," Rock said in a statement. "And this show does all that and more."
The 30-date trek is set to launch Jan. 25 in Evansville, IN, and visit primarily arena-sized venues around the eastern half of the US through late March. Since last check, a two-night stand was added in Detroit along with shows in St. Louis, MO, and Norfolk, VA. Details are listed below.
Last fall, Rock did a shorter, more intimate tour to get the ball rolling behind his October release, "Rock N Roll Jesus," which topped The Billboard 200 chart. So far, the gold-certified set has spawned modern- and mainstream-rock hits "So Hott" and "Amen," both of which are streaming at the rocker's MySpace page.
Before "Rock N Roll Jesus," Rock's last proper studio album was his 2003 self-titled set. In 2006, he released his first-ever live record, "Live Trucker."
