Willie Nelson plots course further into 2008
Tireless country legend Willie Nelson has already lined up his second round of US tour dates for 2008, just days after kicking off his first three months' worth of shows.
The 74-year-old Nelson--who brings his show to Jacksonville, FL, tonight (1/10), the latest stop on a outing that will take him to 27 additional cities through late March--will head overseas for a 20-date European road trip after his current US run, then return home for a June 13 appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN.
Following the festival slot, Nelson will kick off the first of nine early summer shows June 14 in St. Louis, MO. The singer's US dates are included below; Nelson's international schedule can be found at his website.
The always-busy Nelson continues to churn out new material. His latest studio creation, "Moment of Forever," hits stores Jan. 29. The Kenny Chesney-produced album features a few Nelson originals, along with covers of songs by Kris Kristofferson, Bob Dylan, Randy Newman and others, as well as a pair of Chesney-penned tracks, "I'm Alive" and "Worry B Gone."
The new set follows Nelson's recent collaboration with big-band singer/pro-golfer Don Cherry, "It's Magic." Released in early October, the album consists of 12 classics, including "What a Wonderful World," "You've Changed" and the title track.
