Gary Allan takes to 'Living Hard' on the road

Country singer Gary Allan is starting to build his 2008 touring schedule to support his latest album, "Living Hard."

He'll kick things off with a Jan. 18 show in Kinder, LA, and then move into February with a couple of gigs in the South and a slot on Toby Keith's two-night tour stop in Uncasville, CT. Allan will then embark on a weeklong Australian run in March, and be back in the US the following month for scattered dates through July. US shows are listed below and those overseas can be found at Allan's website.

With two albums to support last year, Allan set out on a major summer outing and then spent the rest of 2007 supporting Keith Urban's big road show.

His October release, "Living Hard," is Allan's seventh studio set for MCA Nashville. The record peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 as well as the mag's country albums chart, and lead single "Watching Airplanes" is currently making waves on country and pop radio.

The California-bred performer said the new album is his most rockin' to date and contains more of his own songwriting than ever before.

"I just felt like I was growing so much and wanted the music to reflect that," Allan said in a statement. "I think the result has more of an edge."

The singer, who has been influenced by Bakersfield, CA's outlaw country movement, added, "I've got the edgy side of the country crowd--and I want to keep them."

Last spring, Allan offered up a best-of collection with two new songs, including crossover hit "A Feelin' Like That." The 15-track "Greatest Hits" collection, which recently reached gold status, debuted at the top of Billboard's country albums chart, giving Allan back-to-back No. 1s following 2005's "Tough All Over."
