Los Lobos' Hidalgo, Perez line up acoustic duo outing
The veteran roots-rockers will play selections on the outing of their own and fans' favorites from more than 30 years of collaboration, which began before Los Lobos was formed, when the pair became friends while attending high school in East Los Angeles.
The shows--which will feature question-and-answer sessions in addition to live performances--will kick off with a two-night engagement spanning Jan. 16-17 in Oakland. The pair will work the acoustic duet shows into Los Lobos' existing tour schedule, hitting seven cities in January and April of next year. All dates for both the full band and the Hidalgo/Perez shows are included below.
Los Lobos continue to back last year's "The Town and the City" with new dates, including the band's impending New Year's Eve show in Friant, CA, and a few shows scattered over the first months of 2008. A longer headlining tour will follow in March.
"The Town and the City" is the 13th studio album of Los Lobos' 34-year career. The self-produced record, which was released in September, landed on several critics' lists as one of the Top 10 albums of 2006. A couple of songs from the set are streaming at Los Lobos' MySpace page.
