The Bravery makes plans for early 2008 headlining run
Alt-rockers The Bravery plan a quick start for next year, with a headlining tour launching in January behind the band's latest album, this spring's "The Sun and the Moon."
The New Yorkers, who kick things off Jan. 16 in Boulder, CO, have a few holiday-themed radio shows to finish off before they tackle their 26-city headlining schedule. The first of the band's remaining 2007 obligations comes Dec. 16 in Portland, ME, for the final night of FM station WCYY's Holiday Bizarre concert series. All dates are below.
Released in May, The Bravery's sophomore effort follows up on the band's self-titled 2005 debut, and features production by Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Bob Dylan). The band worked with O'Brien in his Atlanta studio, as well as "various apartments scattered around New York City," according to a posting on the group's website.
The album debuted at No. 24 on The Billboard 200 album chart, moving about 22,000 copies in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Several songs from the set have found their way onto television soundtracks, including "Believe," which appeared in a recent episode of MTV's "The Hills," and "The Ocean," which turned up in an October episode of the ABC-TV medical drama "Grey's Anatomy." "Believe," the album's second single, following "Time Won't Let Me Go," also appears on the soundtrack of the popular Madden 2008 video game.
