Miley Cyrus takes 'Worlds' tour to the movies
Teen sensation Miley Cyrus , a.k.a. Hannah Montana, is taking her wildly successful Best of Both Worlds tour to the big screen in February.
A performance from the sold-out trek will be shown in state-of-the-art digital 3D Feb. 1-7 at AMC Entertainment and National Amusements movie theaters across the US and in Toronto. Advance tickets are currently on sale. Information about locations, times and price can be found at AMC's website and National Amusements' website.
Cyrus' arena tour, which kicked off in mid-October, has made headlines and drawn controversy for its lightning-fast sellouts, which have left die-hard fans scrambling for tickets. The 15-year-old singer continues tonight (12/3) in Kansas City, MO, and has shows all over the eastern half of the US, as well as in Toronto, through Jan. 9. Teen pop-rockers The Jonas Brothers are holding down the opening slot. Remaining dates are listed below.
On tour, Cyrus performs as a double bill, appearing first as her Disney Channel character, Hannah Montana, and then closing the show with material from her debut solo album, "Meet Miley Cyrus."
The performer's solo set was released in June as a double album featuring the "Hannah Montana 2" soundtrack. The collection debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and reached platinum status after one week. It scored the highest first-week sales total of any album ever released by Walt Disney Records, according to Cyrus' website.
The singer/songwriter/actress shot to fame last year as the star of the Disney Channel television series "Hannah Montana," in which she acts alongside her real-life dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
