Armor for Sleep, Saosin announce co-headlining trek
Post-hardcore outfits Armor for Sleep and Saosin will hit the road together in January, with the former act touring behind a new studio release, October's "Smile for Them."
The pairing will kick off Jan. 21 in Tucson, AZ, and will hit 17 cities over the first two months of 2008, with "a few more dates" to be added later, according to Armor for Sleep's website.
Fellow emo-core acts The Bled and Meriwether will be along for opening support during the trek, which hits various eastern locales in late January before heading back out west. All current dates for the outing are included below.
New Jersey-based Armor for Sleep--Ben Jorgensen (vocals/guitar), PJ DeCicco (guitar), Anthony Dilonno (bass) and Nash Breen (drums)--worked with producer Machine (Lamb of God, Every Time I Die) at the Machine Shop recording studios in the band's home state to produce "Smile for Them," thegroup's third studio album and the follow-up to 2005's "What to Do When You Are Dead."
Saosin is supporting its self-titled 2006 debut on Capitol Records. A few songs from the album are streaming at the group's MySpace page. The major-label set follows Saosin's 2003 independent release, "Translating the Name," which earned the band a hefty following online and at live shows, according to its bio.
