Martina McBride ramps up 'Laughing' tour
Martina McBride 's 2008 tour has doubled in size since last check, with new dates added in the US and Canada.
The country star has one more concert this year--Dec. 2 in Friant, CA--before she takes a holiday break to rest up for her next outing, which launches Jan. 18 in Evansville, IN. The trek will take her from the Midwest to the East Coast in the US and across several Canadian provinces through late April. The itinerary is listed below.
Texas-based singer/songwriter Jack Ingram and up-and-coming Nashville trio Lady Antebellum will open the first half of the tour, after which Little Big Town, Johnny Reid and Emerson Drive will take turns. Ingram will then return for the April shows. Details about which acts appear on each date are available at McBride's website.
The songstress continues to support her April release, "Waking Up Laughing," which includes "Anyway," her fastest-selling single to date. The album is McBride's ninth and marks her first time taking on the triple threat of producer, writer and artist.
This holiday season, McBride is also supporting the reissue of her 1999 album "White Christmas." The updated version of the set includes four additional recordings: "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," "Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bells" and "Baby, It's Cold Outside," which is a previously released duet with Dean Martin.
McBride is also keeping busy with charity work, having recently partnered with Mary Kay cosmetics for "A Kiss for Country" campaign. The organization will auction celebrity lip prints at uBid.com with proceeds going to programs committed to ending domestic violence.
McBride, a four-time Country Music Association Vocalist of the Year, has sold more than 16 million albums and charted 22 Top 10 singles in her 15-year career, according to the her bio.
