Lenny Kravitz tour coming in January
Lenny Kravitz will launch a two-week US tour in January, before the release of his forthcoming new album, "It Is Time For a Love Revolution."
The nine-city tour--for which dates and venues haven't been announced--will kick off Jan. 17 and run through Feb. 1, with stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia and New York City currently confirmed. Firm dates will be announced "shortly," according to Kravitz's publicist.
In conjunction with the tour, Kravitz has announced a contest that will allow 10 of his MySpace friends to join him during the outing while riding on a specially designed tour bus accompanying the trek; winners can bring a guest and will also receive full backstage access during the tour. See Kravitz's MySpace page for full details.
Kravitz is also sketching out plans for a much larger tour following the new album's Feb. 4 release, with preliminary framework in place for a two-year-long world trek, according to a press release.
"Love Revolution" is the singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist's eighth studio album and his first since 2004's "Baptism." Kravitz self-produced the 14-track set, which has already spawned a pair of singles, "Bring It On" and "I'll Be Waiting," both of which hit radio last month.
"I love this record and the feel of the record," Kravitz recently told entertainment website acedmagazine.com. "I felt like a kid playing in my bedroom, and that's the most important thing you can tap into, that feeling of being free."
