Indigo Girls gear up for new-year trek
The Indigo Girls , who toured North America all spring and summer, will launch another US trek in January.
The folk-rock duo will finish out 2007 with a holiday show in Tucson, AZ, and then hit the trail again beginning Jan. 24 in Athens, GA. So far, the tour has dates in Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and Illinois through early February. Details are listed below.
The Girls recently returned home from a tour of Australia, where they hadn't played in nine years.
They continue to support their 10th studio album, "Despite Our Differences," which surfaced last fall. The record, produced by Mitchell Froom (Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow), follows 2004's "All That We Let In" and is the Grammy-winning duo's first album for Hollywood Records.
"Despite Our Differences" also marks Amy Ray and Emily Saliers' 20th year of performing together. In that time, they've sold more than 12 million albums, according to a press release.
While the Indigo Girls wait for their next round of tour dates, Ray is staying busy with her side project, Amy Ray and the Volunteers. The group is getting ready to release "Live from Knoxville," which captures a 2005 performance and includes material from the albums "Stag" and "Prom."
The limited-edition live set will be available for digital download beginning Dec. 19 at the eMusic website and at other download sites in February. It will not be sold in retail stores.
