As expected, the success of Van Halen [ tickets ]'s in-progress semi-reunion tour has prompted the group to roll out a new leg of 2008 shows.

So far, the classic rockers--who last month tipped the 2008 tour plans when they announced a March 30 make-up date for an originally scheduled Oct. 28 stop in St. Louis--have added to their itinerary a pair of January and February dates, with stops planned in Oklahoma City, OK; Houston, TX; Omaha, NE; and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Tickets for all four shows are now scheduled to hit the box office in early December; details are included in the itinerary shown below.

Meanwhile, Van Halen [ tickets ] will continue its latest round of shows with a performance tonight at New York City's Madison Square Garden, after which the Southern California-based group will take a week off before returning to the stage for a Nov. 20 show in Los Angeles, the first in a series of West Coast shows that carry the group through late December.

In late September, Van Halen launched its first tour in 22 years to feature original frontman David Lee Roth at the helm. The band's performances--which have featured a setlist comprised solely of songs released during Roth's original 1978-1984 stint with the group--have largely received glowing remarks from fans and critics alike.

Despite Roths' return, the outing falls short of being a full-fledged reunion of the band's original lineup; prior to setting out on tour, the band's namesake brother duo--Alex and Eddie Van Halen--bounced founding bassist Michael Anthony in favor of Eddie's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang Van Halen.

Earlier this year, Van Halen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Anthony and former vocalist Sammy Hagar were the only two members to attend the ceremony; Eddie Van Halen was in a rehab facility at the time, and Alex and Roth chose to bow out.

Hagar, Anthony and Hagar's backing band, The Wabos, are in the midst of their own 60-date tour, which launched earlier this month and is slated to run until July of next year.
