Moe. lines up initial dates for 2008
Jam-rockers moe. have announced the first dates of their 2008 winter road trip, which hits seven states in January and February with more expected to follow.
The band, which is still touring behind its January release, "The Conch," will finish off a few remaining 2007 dates before launching next year's campaign Jan. 17 in San Francisco, the first of 10 shows announced so far for the winter outing.
The group also has a Dec. 17 show in Boulder, CO, on the calendar, as well as a pair of New York City commitments at the end of December, including its New Year's Eve show at Radio City Music Hall. All dates are below.
Pre-sale ticketing for the 2008 shows begins Wednesday (11/14) through the group's website, with a general on-sale beginning Nov. 17.
The band announced recently that it would not present its annual snoe.down festival next year owing to "extensive and on-going construction" in Lake Placid, NY, the event's usual home, according to the group's website. The late-winter festival ran March 23-25 this year, boasting a lineup that included Brazilian Girls, Little Feat and The Disco Biscuits, among others. The event will resume in 2009, the band said.
Every Labor Day weekend, moe. hosts its annual moe.down at the Ski Area in Turin, NY. That three-day fest, started in 2000, draws a wide variety of acts from up-and-comers to big-name jammers like Blues Traveler, Les Claypool and Mike Gordon of Phish.
The most recent edition of the event featured Ryan Adams, Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood and Amos Lee, with moe. playing six sets over the festival's Aug. 31-Sept. 2 run.
