Travis returns to check out West Coast venues
Scottish indie-pop outfit Travis returns to the US in November for another round of headlining shows behind "The Boy With No Name," the band's first album in four years.
The group returned to American stages this spring for the first time since 2004, hitting venues mainly in the eastern half of the country; this time around, the group will re-familiarize itself with the West Coast, kicking off Nov. 17 in Seattle, and running all the way down to a Nov. 26 closer in San Diego. Dates are shown below.
British indie-rockers Maximo Park will open all dates.
Released in May, "The Boy With No Name" is the first new Travis album since 2003's "12 Memories." The band self-produced the set with additional input from Brian Eno and recording engineer Mike Hedges. The group also turned to longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich (Beck, Paul McCartney) for assistance on several tracks.
"We trust Nigel and fear him," bassist Dougie Payne said in a press release. "If Nigel doesn't think something is any good, he'll say."
The album's title refers to lead vocalist Fran Healy's newborn son, Clay, whose name Healy and his wife, Nora, were unable to settle upon until four weeks after his birth, according to the press release.
