Alt-rockers Team Sleep [ tickets ], featuring Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, will launch a late-year headlining trek while continuing to gather steam toward a possible second album.

The rock/electronica quintet, which hails from Sacramento, CA, will kick things off Nov. 29 in nearby Orangevale, CA. The 17-city outing will feature opening support from a trio of acts: Sonny (formerly From First to Last), Monster in the Machine and Strata. Dates are below.

Team Sleep released its long-delayed self-titled debut album in 2005, and has hinted at a follow-up in recent years, telling Canadian music website Chartattack.com two years ago that it had "around 15 songs already written" for the next record.

"We hope to have another record out next year," Moreno said at the time. "We have the material for it, it's just all about recording and putting it on tape and getting my vocals done."

Recently, the band relayed a hopeful message for fans at hardcore music site ThePRP.com. "We will be releasing a series of EP's online for free download over the next year," Moreno said. "We want to give our fans new music while they are waiting for our next full-length which we have started writing for."

Moreno--who sings and plays guitar for Team Sleep--formed the group with friend and guitarist Todd Wilkinson in the mid-'90s. Rounding out the lineup are DJ Crook (turntables/drum programming), Zach Hill (drums) and Rick Verrett (bass).
