Miley Cyrus goes 3D on the big screen

Miley Cyrus [ tickets ]' Best of Both Worlds tour, which launches tomorrow, will be captured on film and screened at 3D movie theaters early next year.

Cyrus--who, during the tour, is scheduled to perform a set of material as her Disney Channel character Hannah Montana [ tickets ], and then close the show with material from her solo album, "Meet Miley Cyrus"--will hit the silver screen for one week only, Feb. 1-7, at movie theaters in the US and Canada, according to Walt Disney Studios, and will also run in a number of international markets in the spring.

Director Bruce Hendricks and producer Art Repola, both of whom worked on ESPN's "Ultimate X: The Movie," plan to shoot several of Cyrus' upcoming performances in "state-of-the-art 3D," according to Disney.

As previously reported, Cyrus takes to the road tomorrow in St. Louis, and is slated to canvas the US through early January. Teen pop-rockers The Jonas Brothers, who just released their self-titled debut album, have been tapped to hold down the opening slot. The tour's itinerary is included below.

Cyrus' debut solo album, "Meet Miley Cyrus," was released in June as a two-disc set featuring the "Hannah Montana 2" soundtrack. The collection debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and reached platinum status after one week.

Cyrus shot to fame last year as the star of the Disney Channel television series "Hannah Montana," in which the teen acts alongside her real-life dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. The program is currently in its second season.
