KT Tunstall maps short 'Drastic' outing
The Scottish performer has only confirmed four dates so far. Over the last two years, the ecologically minded singer has spent months on the road in the Americas, touring in a bio-diesel fueled bus following the success of her debut, "Eye to the Telescope."
The brief visit kicks off Nov. 13 in Los Angeles, with additional shows slated for Chicago (11/17), New York City (11/21) and Toronto (11/22). Dates and venues are listed below.
"The last three years have changed me as an artist," Tunstall said of her new album in a press statement. "My bar has been raised. I've realized what's possible through making an album, touring behind it with a band, seeing how that album can turn into something else on stage, and how we can actually make it better."
For "Drastic Fantastic," which hit stores in September, Tunstall again worked with "Telescope" producer Steve Osbourne (U2, New Order), with mixing duties handled by Michael H. Brauer (Coldplay, The Rolling Stones).
Released in the UK in 2005 and the US last year, "Telescope" rocketed Tunstall solidly into the public eye, maintaining a Top 5 chart presence on adult-format radio charts well into the album's eighth month after shipping. Tracks from the set, which moved more than a million copies in the US, found their way onto several television series, including "American Idol," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Will and Grace."
Driving the set's US sales was lead single "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," which garnered strong radio play and also ended up in VH1's video rotation.
