Ashley Tisdale goes to the mall

Singer/actress Ashley Tisdale will head out on a mall tour this weekend to support her debut album, "Headstrong."

The "High School Musical" star will start Sunday (10/14) in Columbus, OH, and stick to the eastern half of the US into November. The itinerary is listed below.

At each mall stop, Tisdale will sing a few songs, and clothing company Red will host a fashion show that will see online contest winners earn a spot on the runway, according to a press release. Tisdale has signed on to be the spokesperson for Red this holiday season.

"Headstrong," the singer's inaugural album on Warner Bros. Records, debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 when it surfaced in February. The video for lead single "He Said, She Said" premiered on MTV's "TRL" program last month and is currently ranked No. 1.

Tisdale is scheduled to perform the song on ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" Oct. 19 and "Live with Regis and Kelly" Oct. 22.

The 22-year-old performer, best known for her roles in the "High School Musical" movies and the Disney Channel TV series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," will also release a DVD next month. "There's Something About Ashley: The Story of Headstrong" will give fans a peek into Tisdale's life, following her through the recording process and on her travels with last year's "High School Musical" tour. The hour-long DVD will also include three music videos.

Tisdale stayed busy this summer promoting "High School Musical 2," which premiered on the Disney Channel in August and set the record for the most-watched basic-cable telecast on record, according to a press release. The soundtrack single "Fabulous," on which Tisdale duets with co-star Lucas Grabeel, is currently charting on Billboard's Pop 100.

When the original "High School Musical" movie was released last year, Tisdale made history by becoming the first female artist to debut with two songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100, according to a bio on her website. The songs "Bop to the Top" and "What I've Been Looking For" from the multiplatinum-selling soundtrack are both duets with Grabeel.

Meanwhile, Tisdale is currently working on the feature film "Picture This," which MTV News described as a feel-good father-daughter flick.

The New Jersey-bred singer/actress, recently named one of Teen People's 25 Hottest Stars under 25, was discovered at age three in her hometown mall. She went on to star in more than 100 national network commercials and, at age eight, scored a leading role in the national tour of the Broadway musical "Les Miserable." Tisdale then toured internationally with the cast of "Annie" and has since shown up in the film "Donnie Darko" and a slew of television shows.
