Bruce Springsteen adds second Bay Area show
Another quick sellout means another show added to the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tour, this time in Oakland, CA.
The Oct. 26 Oakland date sold out in a matter of hours, prompting the addition of a second night Oct. 25. The new gig goes on sale Monday (10/15).
With tickets selling like hot cakes, The Boss and company have booked two-night stands at arenas in several US cities. They've already played double shots in Philadelphia and East Rutherford, NJ, and will do the same in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston and Washington, DC.
The next date on the itinerary is Sunday (10/14) in Kanata, Ontario. Details are listed below.
Once the US/Canadian trek wraps in mid-November, the roots-rockers will jet to Europe for nearly four weeks. Those shows can be found at Springsteen's website.
The outing, which launched earlier this month, is Springsteen and the E Street Band's first full-scale tour of North America and Europe since 2003. The concerts include a good deal of material from the group's new album, "Magic," which surfaced Oct. 2 and shot to No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart.
"Magic" is The Boss' first new studio recording with the E Street Band since 2002's Grammy-winning, multi-platinum set "The Rising." The new album's lead single, "Radio Nowhere," is currently climbing Billboard's Pop 100 chart.
Last year, Springsteen and his Sessions Band released "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions," a tribute to folk great Pete Seeger. The double-CD set "Live in Dublin," which documents the tour behind that album, surfaced in June.
