Rascal Flatts make early 2008 plans
Country-pop outfit Rascal Flatts , fresh from scoring its third consecutive No. 1 album debut, has started looking forward to next year with its latest batch of new tour dates.
The trio, which lands in Chicago later this week for an Oct. 12 show, will start the new year running, kicking off Jan. 17 in Manchester, NH, followed by a Madison Square Garden appearance the following night in New York City. The group's early 2008 schedule also includes dates in Albany, NY, and Dayton, OH.
The group is touring behind "Still Feels Good," its fifth studio album, which was recorded with award-winning producer Dan Huff and hit store shelves Sept. 25. The album moved 547,000 copies during its first week of release, according to the trio's record label.
Rascal Flatts ' previous release, last year's "Me and My Gang," also topped The Billboard 200 chart and became the biggest sales debut of the year. The tour behind that album reached more than 1 million fans in 74 cities, making Rascal Flatts the best-selling artist across all genres in 2006, according to a press release.
Meanwhile, the band has been stacking up the awards this year, so far scoring a pair of People's Choice honors, Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards and its fifth consecutive Vocal Group of the Year trophy from the Academy of Country Music.
In November, Rascal Flatts will be vying for Vocal Group of the Year and Entertainer of the Year at the 41st Annual Country Music Association Awards.
