Gregg Allman plans shows into next year
Gregg Allman will be on the road again next week, as he kicks off a 14-date fall tour of the US.
The blues-rocker, who's been busy with The Allman Brothers Band this summer, will launch his own dates Oct. 12 in Charleston, SC. He'll focus on the Southeast before wrapping the trek with a Nov. 11 performance at the Love Ride Foundation Benefit in Pomona, CA. Details are listed below.
Allman is expected to confirm more shows that will take him from late December into January, according to a press release.
On the road, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will be joined by guitarist Mark McGee, saxophonist Jay Collins, bassist Jerry Jemmott, keyboardist Bruce Katz, percussionist Floyd Miles and drummer Steve Potts.
Between Allman's solo performances and those with The Allman Brothers Band, he's kept a busy schedule since spring. After the band's 15-show, sold-out residency at New York City's Beacon Theatre in March, the Allman Brothers headlined their annual Wanee Festival in Florida and appeared at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Memphis' Beale Street Festival. Allman then embarked on a West Coast tour in May, followed by his first-ever shows in Italy and Poland.
The singer/songwriter/keyboardist/guitarist was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 as part of The Allman Brothers Band and received a lifetime achievement award from the Georgia Music Hall of Fame last year.
