Kid Rock readies tour, media blitz
Kid Rock has added a few more dates to his fall outing ahead of releasing his forthcoming album, "Rock N Roll Jesus."
The North American tour of intimate venues kicks off Oct. 6 in Cincinnati and hits major markets across the US and a couple in Canada into November. Since last check, dates have been added in San Francisco, Phoenix, Vancouver, Denver and the Minneapolis area. Details are listed below.
Rock is scheduled to drop his new studio set, "Rock N Roll Jesus," Oct. 9. The album, produced by the rap-rocker and Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls), features Rock's Twisted Brown Trucker band and the Fisk Jubilee Singers, according to a press release.
The lead single, "So Hott," is streaming at Rock's MySpace page, as is the provocative video for the song, which premiered on the VH1 Top 20 Countdown earlier this month.
About the same time his tour launches, Rock will set off on a media blitz to promote the record with appearances on "Larry King Live," "Late Show with David Letterman," "The Ellen Degeneres Show," and "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Dates and times are available at Rock's website.
The multiplatinum-selling performer will also take part in a Hank Williams Jr. tribute as part of Country Music Television's "CMT Giants" special. The show is scheduled to take place Oct. 25 at Universal City, CA's Gibson Amphitheatre and will air on the cable channel Nov. 17, according to Rock's website.
The American Badass was in the news earlier this month for brawling with Tommy Lee at the MTV Video Music Awards. A Las Vegas promoter has offered to help the rockers settle the score with a boxing match, the winner of which would pick up a $5 million purse, according to various reports. Neither of the men, who are both ex-husbands of Pamela Anderson, have said whether they're willing to participate.
