Spoon adds new dates to fall tour

Indie rockers Spoon have filled in a few of the remaining gaps in their fall tour schedule as the band continues to support its latest disc, this summer's "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga."

The Austin, TX, band will sail into San Diego on Sept. 23 to finish up the trek's West Coast leg before kicking off its tour of southern and midwestern locales Sept. 29 in Tulsa, OK. Newly added dates for the trek include shows in Columbia, MD; Lawrence, KS; Milwaukee; and a Florida excursion that involves what the band claims is its first-ever Miami concert. Dates are shown below.

November's pair of Texas shows will find the band playing on the same bill as The New Pornographers. Earlier this month Spoon teamed with hip-hop producer Kool Keith in Los Angeles for a charity show benefiting the non-profit organization Creative Commons.

Released July 10, "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga" is Spoon's sixth studio album and follows 2005's "Gimme Fiction." A limited-edition version of the album that includes a bonus disc titled "Get Nice!" was released concurrently with the regular version. The bonus disc features a handful of instrumental songs, along with a few demos.

Several tracks from the new disc (as well as selected songs from throughout the band's career) are streaming at Spoon's recently redesigned official website.
