The Police add North American shows
The Police have added six new dates to the next leg of their North American tour as the band, currently barnstorming European venues, continues its return to live stages.
The reunited '80s trio will launch its next trek on this side of the pond Oct. 31 in New York City, with a newly added second New York date scheduled for Nov. 2, marking the fourth and fifth times the band has played to Big Apple crowds since launching its comeback tour in May.
Aside from the second New York show, the band has announced several additions to the itinerary: Nov. 5 in Washington, DC; Nov. 6 in Charlottesville, VA; Nov. 15 in Charlotte, NC; a Nov. 18 second night in Atlanta; and Nov. 20 in San Antonio, TX. All of the group's currently scheduled North American dates are included below.
The trio is due to the hit the stage tonight (9/11) in Hamburg, Germany. The band's full European schedule--as well as information on pre-sale tickets for the newly added American shows--can be obtained at the official Police website.
Earlier this year, the group marked the 30th anniversary of its recording debut with the release of a self-titled 2-CD best-of collection on A&M Records. The 28-track set includes the band's first single, 1977's "Fall Out."
