Country singers Tim McGraw [ tickets ] and Kenny Chesney [ tickets ] were arrested in Buffalo, N.Y., on Saturday night (6/3) after Chesney took a Mounted Reserve deputy's horse without permission and McGraw attacked officers who captured Chesney, according to a statement issued by the Erie County Sheriff's Office in New York. The incident took place outside of Ralph Wilson Stadium, where the two were participating in a performance by George Strait.

According to the Sheriff's office, Chesney asked to sit on a Mounted Reserve deputy's horse and was given permission to do so by the daughter of the reserve deputy who owned the horse. Chesney then allegedly rode away on the horse despite being told to stop. Once other deputies patrolling the lot caught up to him, Chesney allegedly refused to get off the horse and had to be physically removed.

McGraw and others then allegedly attacked the deputies who were confronting Chesney.

Chesney was charged with disorderly conduct and released on $100 bail. McGraw was charged with assault, obstructing governmental administration, menacing and resisting arrest. He was released on $2,500 bail. A third member of the group--44-year-old Mark Russo of Tennessee--was charged with obstructing governmental administration, harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was released on $500 bail.

A spokesperson for Tim McGraw said the incident is not expected to affect the singer's upcoming tour with wife Faith Hill.
