Korn set to unleash 'Problem' tour
Alt-metal rockers Korn , who are in the midst of the Family Values Tour , have just announced the first round of dates for a headlining fall trek.
The North American "Bi%h! We Have A Problem Tour" will launch Sept. 22 in Reno, NV. Special guests on the outing are Hell Yeah , Five Finger Death Punch and Droid . The first nine dates are listed below and more will be announced shortly, according to a blog entry at Korn's MySpace page.
Since late July, the band has been traveling across the US with Family Values, which features co-headliner Evanescence as well as Atreyu , Flyleaf , Trivium and Hell Yeah on the main stage. Nuerosonic and Droid round out the bill.
Korn is touring behind its untitled eighth studio album, which hit the streets July 31 and reached No. 2 on The Billboard 200. Frontman Jonathan Davis said in a bio that the set is "about us growing up and our minds opening more."
Indeed, the band was thrown into a period of growth and change when guitarist Brian "Head" Welch left in 2005 and drummer David Silveria began an extended hiatus last year.
"The dynamics and chemistry have of course changed, and it's reflected musically and creatively on this album," Davis said, adding that the remaining band members have had to step it up.
The untitled album, which follows 2005's multiplatinum "See You on the Other Side," has Korn's James "Munky" Shaffer taking on all guitar duties and Terry Bozzio filling in on drums. Several songs from the set, including lead single "Evolution," are streaming at the band's MySpace page.
On tour, Korn has Joey Jordison of Slipknot behind the drum kit and former Sevendust member Clint Lowery joining Shaffer on guitars.
