Dar Williams releases live DVD
Folk-pop singer/songwriter Dar Williams is getting ready to release her first-ever live DVD, on which she performs her greatest hits and personal favorites.
"Live at Bearsville Theater," recorded from a two-night stand in Woodstock, NY, will hit the streets Oct. 16. The DVD captures Williams performing solo and with a backing band, and features a new song, "The Easy Way," as well as a rendition of The Grateful Dead's "Ripple." It also includes bonus videos and behind-the-scenes footage.
"Performing live in front of audiences is where I am most at home," Williams said in a statement. "The idea of capturing it on film for the first time was just a dream come true."
Currently, Williams is currently on the road, playing US shows from coast to coast. She is in California this weekend and will make her way across the East in September, November and December. Dates are listed below.
The singer continues to support her sixth studio album, 2005's "My Better Self," which cracked The Billboard 200 chart. The set comprises original material alongside a handful of covers, including Neil Young's "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" and Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," which is streaming at Williams' MySpace page.
