Fall Out Boy goes wild over new tour
Fall Out Boy has another North American trek in the works and will have a little fun with fans in unveiling the dates, which will also feature Gym Class Heroes, Plain White T's and Cute is What We Aim For.
So far, Fall Out Boy has revealed The Young Wild Things Tour will begin Oct. 18 in Columbus, OH, and run through December. An Oct. 28 gig at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Festival is also listed at the band's website.
Fans will have the opportunity to unlock each tour date before the rest of the world by scoring a secret code at FOB's website, and earning points by getting others to sign up on the site. Those with the most points have a chance to unlock a date and win tickets or gain access to a pre-sale. Fans can also participate in a T-shirt design contest for a cash prize. Details are available at the band's website.
Fall Out Boy, which is currently in Europe and will visit the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand into early October, finished a major North American jaunt early last month as headliners of the Honda Civic Tour.
The pop-rockers are supporting their February release, "Infinity on High," which is their first No. 1 album in the US. The set has spawned the hit "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," and the newest single, "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs," both of which are streaming at FOB's MySpace page.
Earlier this month, the Grammy-nominated band learned that it's up for two MTV Video Music Awards: Monster Single of the Year for "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" and Best Group. The winners will be announced Sept. 9.
