Van Halen expected to announce tour
Van Halen has announced plans for a press conference in Los Angeles next Monday (8/13), during which the band is expected to outline plans for a fall reunion tour with reinstated frontman David Lee Roth.
"Come witness rock history as Van Halen makes an announcement of monumental proportions," reads a press release the group issued late yesterday (8/8).
Founding band members/brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen will be on hand for the press conference, along with Roth--who for years has publicly predicted the forthcoming reunion tour--and new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddie's 16-year-old son, who has replaced original bassist Michael Anthony.
Earlier this year, Van Halen announced plans for a summer tour with Roth at the helm, but subsequently postponed the outing when guitarist Eddie Van Halen entered a rehab facility.
