The Black Crowes [ tickets ], who reformed in 2005 and have been working the road on and off ever since, have finished recording their first album of new material since 2001's "Lions."

The as-yet-untitled set, which is due out next spring, features 16 new tracks that the group has not yet performed in front of a live audience, according to a press release. The group, led by founding brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, recorded the set in New York and co-produced the collection with Paul Stacey.

In related news, Adam MacDougall, who played keys in the studio on the forthcoming album, will also appear on stage with the band during its current tour.

Billboard.com, citing unnamed sources, reports that Van Halen [ tickets ] next week will hold a Hollywood press conference to announce a 50-date reunion tour that will feature lead singer David Lee Roth at the helm for the first time in 23 years. Earlier this year, the group announced plans for a summer tour with Roth, but that outing was scrapped when Eddie Van Halen entered a rehab facility. The guitarist has since emerged from the rehab stint, and has been photographed looking healthier than he had in recent years.

In addition to Roth and Eddie Van Halen, the group's lineup during the upcoming run will also feature founding drummer Alex Van Halen, and is expected to include Eddie's 16-year-old son, Wolfgang Van Halen, who has replaced original bassist Michael Anthony.

The Backstreet Boys [ tickets ] today debuted on New York radio station Z-100 a new single titled "Inconsolable." The cut will appear on the group's forthcoming album, which is due out Oct. 30 and follows 2005's "Never Gone."

Trisha Yearwood [ tickets ] has announced a Sept. 11 release date for "Trisha Yearwood's Greatest Hits," a 17 track set that includes some of the country singer's best-known songs, as well as two previously unreleased cuts, according to a press release.
