Briefly: Pearl Jam, KISS, Eagles, David Gilmour
"'Picture in a Frame' is a film I've really wanted to make," Danny Clinch--renowned photographer, filmmaker and longtime friend of the band--said in a press release. "The band invited me to Italy and gave me the access I needed to show a side seldom seen by their fans. It has become a collaboration as well. The band even offered me some music that has never been heard and Mike [McCready, guitar] went into the studio to create some more music for the soundscapes. This is a look at Pearl Jam that no one has seen yet. A trip through northern Italy with the band, through the document and through abstraction."
A complete track listing for the set, as well as details about a limited-edition commemorative T-shirt that will be available as part of a "Picture in a Frame" pre-sale that kicks off Aug. 22, are available at Pearl Jam's website.
KISS frontman Paul Stanley--who, as reported yesterday, had to bow out of a recent concert due to a "cardiac event"--wants friends and fans to know that he is "absolutely fine."
"I'm going to the gym as usual, painting as usual and will be going into the recording studio this week," Stanley wrote in a message posted at his website. "Like many, I have had a rapid heart beat condition most of my life and I never have had any type of restrictions. When I've had an episode, although momentarily disrupting and taxing, it has no residual effect. This is nothing new and my doctors have known about it.
"In short, it doesn't change, hasn't changed and won't change my life."
The Eagles are putting the finishing touches on a new album that will be the group's first full-length studio set since 1979's "The Long Run," guitarist Joe Walsh told LiveDaily. The forthcoming, as-yet-untitled release--which the group has been working on sporadically for the past five years--doesn't have a street date, but Walsh said it would be in stores soon. LiveDaily's interview with Walsh will be published next week.
"Remember That Night - Live at the Royal Albert Hall," a concert film that captures Pink Floyd guitarist/vocalist David Gilmour 's May run at the London venue, will premiere in 111 movie theaters on Sept. 15, three days before it hits stores in DVD form. Details are posted at Gilmour's website.
