Brooks & Dunn head for 'Cowboy Town'
Superstar country duo Brooks & Dunn are champing at the bit to release their brand-new album, "Cowboy Town," and have recently booked more tour dates to support the forthcoming set.
The new record, which is scheduled to hit shelves Oct. 2, has already spawned the Top 20 country single "Proud of the House We Built."
"This really is kind of like cowboys meet the Rolling Stones," Ronnie Dunn said of the album in a press release. "There's a bunch of fun stuff on there. And it sounds different than anything we've ever done."
"Cowboy Town" follows 2005's platinum-selling "Hillbilly Deluxe," which spawned hits including the title track, "Play Something Country" and award-winning singles "Building Bridges" and "Believe."
Brooks & Dunn have been touring with Alan Jackson since May and will continue that trek through October. The duo also has July 28 and Aug. 18 dates on Kenny Chesney 's Flip-Flop Summer Tour of NFL stadiums. Since last check, they've added four-night headlining runs in Las Vegas in September and December. Details are listed below.
Brooks & Dunn have sold more than 30 million records in their career and are the most-awarded act in Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music history. In May, they won their 14th consecutive Vocal Duo of the Year honor at the ACM Awards and also took home a Vocal Event of the Year trophy as well as this year's Humanitarian Award.
Coming up, the performers are set to appear on Charlie Daniels' duets album this fall and are in line to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
