Garbage Launches Nail Polish, Eyes Fall U.S. Tour
Garbage has given their name to a new brand of nail polish, available only in the same color as the logo on their latest album, Version 2.0. The merchandise push comes as the band's American profile is ebbing in the absence of U.S. tour dates or new radio tracks from the album.
The group is currently supporting the album overseas, and will tour through the month of October in Australia. According to their official web site, the band will take part in MTV's upcoming College Tour, which will route through North American universities in the fall.
The nail polish, created jointly with cosmetics firm Hardware, will be made available Monday (8/9) exclusively through the band's web site.
Garbage appeared on the Amsterdam stage of the worldwide Tibetan Freedom Concert in June, and their rendition of The Jam's ''Butterfly Collector'' appears in an upcoming tribute album to the seminal English power-pop band.
