Voodoo Music Experience scores Rage, Pumpkins, Dr. John

Rage Against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins and Dr. John have signed on to play New Orleans' annual Voodoo Music Experience , which will expand to three days this year.

The Oct. 26-28 festival expects to host more than 110 acts across three stages in City Park. The preliminary lineup includes Wilco , Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Sinead O'Connor, Kings of Leon , Clap Your Hands Say Yeah , and The Black Crowes , to name a few. The full list of confirmed artists can be found at the Voodoo Music Experience website.

This is the ninth consecutive year that New Orleans has hosted the festival, despite the 2005 hurricanes that devastated the area.

"We are pleased that the 2007 Voodoo Music Experience is expanding to three days," New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin said in a statement. "This powerful statement of confidence in New Orleans' recovery is a further sign that music and culture define who we are and will play a pivotal role in rebuilding our great city."

A limited number of general-admission, three-day passes go on sale June 29 for $100. Those looking for a more exclusive experience can purchase LOA Lounge VIP passes for $450. The VIP tickets include a three-day pass, private entrance, preferred parking, grandstand seating, upgraded bathrooms, exclusive menu selections, full bar, complimentary drinks and snacks, and a gift bag.

Last year's Voodoo Music Experience, headlined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, drew nearly 100,000 fans, according to a press release.
